The only official document needed is your valid passport. However, in your interview at the American Consulate, you may present additional information to verify your answers in your DS-160 Form.

Bring these documents to your consular interview:

  1. Confirmation of DS-160 Form.
  2. Your Mexican passport, valid for over six months.
  3. All documents that can prove sufficient ties to your country.

Consider taking with you these documents to prove ties with Mexico:

  1. Payroll receipts as proof of employment
  2. Tuition receipts, grades, proof of studies
  3. Bank statements.
  4. Any additional document to prove your ties to your country.

The cost of a B1/B2 nonimmigrant American Visa for Business and Tourism is USD 185 or its equivalent in pesos since you must pay only at the bank in Mexican pesos.

However, if the application is for a child under 15 years, the cost will be only USD 15. If the Visa is approved, it will be valid for ten years or until the minor turns 15, whichever comes first. For that reason, the applicant has the opportunity to pay the full fee of USD 185 or only the price of USD 15. For example, if a minor is 14 years old and his parents decide to pay the USD 15 fee, the Visa that the minor will receive will only be valid for one year until the child reaches 15 years of age, so it is more convenient to pay the full fee of USD 185 in this way, the Visa will be valid for ten years.

The possibility of obtaining a B1/B2 nonimmigrant Visa for business and tourism depends on different factors, according to each applicant's various situations. It is hard to define probabilities or results since the final decision depends entirely on the criteria of the consular officer, so it is imperative to fill out the DS-160 form correctly and be completely honest on the day of the interview at the consulate.
